ERA Piping has expanded its polyethylene product portfolio with a new range of ASTM HDPE pipes and fittings, designed to support water supply, wastewater, drainage, seawater, industrial, mining, gas distribution and irrigation projects.
As infrastructure systems continue to demand greater durability, flexibility and project adaptability, HDPE piping has become an important option for both pressure and non-pressure applications. ERA’s new range combines HDPE pipes, standard butt-fusion fittings and project-specific prefabricated components, helping customers source a more complete piping solution from one supplier.
A Complete Range of HDPE Pipes and Fittings
The new ERA range includes HDPE pressure pipes in IPS dimensions with multiple DR options. The catalogue covers nominal sizes from 1/2 inch to 48 inches, corresponding to outside diameters from 21.3 mm to 1,219.2 mm, with additional DR configurations available on request.
The standard butt-fusion fitting range includes:
45° elbows、90° elbows、Straight tees、Reducing tees、Reducers、Stub flanges

ERA also offers fabricated and customized HDPE components for project-specific pipeline layouts, including:
Fabricated bends with bend radii of 1D, 1.5D, 2D, 2.5D and 3D
Bend angles of 11°, 22°, 30°, 45°, 60° and 90°
Customized angles upon request
Manifolds
Pipe sleeves
Seamless bends
Clamps
Prefabricated assemblies manufactured according to customer drawings
Through its dedicated prefabrication workshop, ERA can assist customers with component design and precision welding based on project drawings and installation requirements.
Applicable ASTM Product and Joining Standards
The new HDPE range is developed around the following ASTM standards for PE pipe, butt-fusion fittings, raw-material classification and heat-fusion joining:
ASTM D3035-22 — Polyethylene (PE) plastic pressure pipe based on controlled outside diameter and DR/PR dimensions
ASTM F714-24 — Polyethylene (PE) plastic pipe manufactured in IPS, DIPS and metric outside-diameter sizing systems
ASTM D3261-24 — Butt heat-fusion polyethylene fittings for PE pipe and tubing
ASTM F2620-24 — Heat-fusion joining procedures for polyethylene pipe and fittings
ASTM D3350-24 — Classification of polyethylene plastic pipe and fitting materials
These standards provide the technical framework for product dimensions, material classification, butt-fusion fittings and heat-fusion joining. The applicable standard, DR, pressure rating, dimensions and joining method should be confirmed for each product and project specification.
ASTM-Referenced Material and Performance Testing
In addition to the applicable product and joining standards, the physical and mechanical property data presented in the new catalogue are evaluated using the following ASTM test methods:
ASTM D1238-23a — Melt flow rate
ASTM D792-20 — Density
ASTM F1473-24a — Slow crack growth resistance using the PENT test
ASTM D638-22 — Tensile strength and tensile elongation
ASTM D3350-24, Clause 10.1.9 — Thermal stability and oxidation induction time
ASTM D4218-20 — Carbon black content
ASTM D746-24 — Brittleness temperature
These test references provide a documented basis for evaluating key material properties such as density, tensile performance, resistance to slow crack growth, thermal stability, carbon black content and low-temperature behavior.
Manufacturing Capability for Large-Scale Projects
ERA has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of HDPE pipes and fittings. Its manufacturing capability extends to HDPE products with sizes up to 2,500 mm, supporting large-diameter and customized requirements for major infrastructure and industrial projects.
Supported by dedicated R&D and quality-control facilities, ERA conducts testing and inspection across raw materials, product dimensions, pressure performance, thermal properties and joint quality. The company also provides butt-fusion and electrofusion equipment to support HDPE system installation.
Designed for Diverse Applications
ERA HDPE piping solutions can be configured for a wide range of applications, including:
Potable water and water distribution
Wastewater and drainage
Seawater conveyance and marine projects
Industrial pipelines
Mining applications
Gas distribution
Agricultural irrigation
Large-scale infrastructure construction
Product selection, DR, dimensions, joining method and operating conditions should be confirmed according to the requirements of each project.
From Standard Supply to Customized Prefabrication
The launch of the new ASTM HDPE range strengthens ERA’s ability to serve customers who require both standard piping products and engineered components. From HDPE pipes manufactured for applicable ASTM D3035 and ASTM F714 requirements to butt-fusion fittings covered by ASTM D3261, ERA provides manufacturing, testing and technical support for demanding pipeline projects. Heat-fusion joining can be implemented in accordance with ASTM F2620, subject to the approved project procedure and product specification.
