On October 28, Category 5 Hurricane Melissa devastated southwestern Jamaica with winds reaching 298 kilometers per hour, making it the strongest storm on record in the nation. The disaster claimed at least 75 lives, with economic losses estimated between $48 billion and $52 billion—equivalent to 30% of Jamaica's GDP last year.

Hospitals in the capital Kingston had roofs torn off, nationwide power and internet outages occurred, and approximately 80% of resort facilities in the renowned tourist destination Montego Bay were destroyed. Roads and infrastructure suffered severe damage... Jamaica now faces an immense reconstruction challenge.
Emergency Response: Building Lifelines
Following the disaster, Omni Industries, a partner of ERA in Jamaica, acted swiftly, donating $65,000 to the affected areas and launching a social relief initiative. As Omni's strategic partner for over fifteen years, ERA immediately responded, demonstrating its commitment through concrete actions.

Pipeline systems are critical to post-disaster reconstruction. ERA precisely aligned with the affected areas' needs, urgently dispatching 170 boxes of ball valves worth a total of $4,000 to support relief efforts. These ANSI-compliant professional products will provide reliable assurance for restoring water supply networks, helping affected regions regain access to clean water as soon as possible. Additionally, ERA will offer special support for Omni's next order, jointly shouldering the responsibility of reconstruction with its partner.

In its email response to Omni, ERA sincerely stated: We respect and fully support Omni's actions in this relief effort, and we are deeply honored to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you. May our contribution bring hope for the rebirth of this land.
Fifteen Years of Shared Commitment, Trust Forged Through Responsibility
Founded in 1974, Omni Industries began manufacturing plastic garden hoses and has evolved into a comprehensive manufacturer of diverse PVC products. Today, it serves as the primary distributor of ERA PVC pipes in Jamaica.

Since their first collaboration in 2010, ERA and Omni have journeyed together for fifteen years. Their partnership has grown from a single 20-foot container order to a stable relationship involving dozens of high-cube containers and an annual trade volume nearing one million dollars. This bond, spanning oceans and enduring years, has only strengthened in the face of disaster.
We stand together in solidarity, building a resilient homeland.
Currently, relief supplies are being systematically transported to Jamaica's disaster-affected areas. These crates of pipe products connect not only water supply networks but also the warm friendship between the two nations; they deliver not just materials but also the confidence and strength for post-disaster reconstruction.
From mutual commercial success to shared responsibility, from trade exchanges to disaster relief, ERA has consistently upheld a spirit of cooperative destiny—growing together in prosperity and standing firm in adversity. This aid represents not only ERA's steadfast support for a long-term partner but also embodies the mutual assistance between Chinese and Jamaican enterprises, further conveying the value of Chinese companies actively participating in building a community with a shared future for mankind.
