On October 28, Category 5 Hurricane Melissa devastated southwestern Jamaica with winds reaching 298 kilometers per hour, making it the strongest storm on record in the nation. The disaster claimed at least 75 lives, with economic losses estimated between $48 billion and $52 billion—equivalent to 30% of Jamaica's GDP last year.

Hospitals in the capital Kingston had roofs torn off, nationwide power and internet outages occurred, and approximately 80% of resort facilities in the renowned tourist destination Montego Bay were destroyed. Roads and infrastructure suffered severe damage... Jamaica now faces an immense reconstruction challenge.

Emergency Response: Building Lifelines

Following the disaster, Omni Industries, a partner of ERA in Jamaica, acted swiftly, donating $65,000 to the affected areas and launching a social relief initiative. Additionally, ERA will offer special support for Omni's next order, jointly shouldering the responsibility of reconstruction with its partner.
