Accelerate the development of deep and distant sea aquaculture, and scientifically exploit food resources from rivers, lakes and seas. Strengthen the research and development of key facilities and equipment for deep and distant sea aquaculture, develop deep-water anti-wind and wave cages, steadily promote the construction of large truss-type cages and aquaculture ships, and build offshore ranches and "blue granaries".

In recent years, China has actively promoted the transformation and upgrading of marine aquaculture, providing policy support for the industrial upgrading of Dachen Island.

At present, there are 12 large yellow croaker breeding bases on the island, with more than 1,000 deep-water cages and 14 yellow croaker breeding enterprises. The output value is about 1 billion yuan, accounting for about two-thirds of the output value of high-quality large yellow croakers in Zhejiang Province. It is the largest large yellow croaker breeding base in Zhejiang Province, and the scale of deep-sea yellow croaker breeding ranks among the top in China. More than 70% of fishermen are directly or indirectly engaged in industries related to yellow croaker breeding, truly realizing that "one fish enriches a place".

The marine aquaculture cages in Dachen Island have undergone multiple technological upgrades from ordinary cages to deep-sea truss aquaculture, and currently HDPE deep-water aquaculture cages have become the mainstream. Relying on more than 40 years of technical accumulation in the plastic pipe industry and innovative practices in the field of deep-sea aquaculture, ERA has developed a number of solutions for the aquaculture field. In response to the special environment of the Dachen Island project, ERA has optimized and designed the HDPE deep-water aquaculture cages, which can effectively cope with various challenges and bring great convenience to the later put into use.

Is fish farming with plastic pipes really safe?

As an edible marine product, large yellow croakers have extremely high requirements for food safety. In addition to a pollution-free seawater environment, there are also strict requirements for aquaculture equipment.

· The HDPE used by ERA is made of environmentally friendly raw materials and will not cause marine pollution.

· It is 100% recyclable and will not generate marine debris.

· Its smooth outer wall does not accumulate dirt, so it will not affect the living environment of fish.

In addition, through scientific design of the cages and optimization of the living space for fish, the efficiency and quality of aquaculture can be improved.

Can such a small "swim cage" really raise so many fish?

· Although the cage looks small, its circumference can reach 90 meters, holding more than 1,000 cubic meters of water. It can accommodate 10,000 to 20,000 yellow croakers, creating a production value of over 1 million yuan for the local area.

· Traditional wooden cages have small capacity and short service life, while the use of new-type cages can increase the production value by about 100 times. Moreover, HDPE deep-sea cages can be used for offshore and far-sea aquaculture, which not only greatly improves the quality of seafood, but also plays a positive role in promoting the sustainable development of the environment.

Is it really stable amid strong winds and waves at sea?

As a coastal area in Zhejiang, it is often threatened by marine climates, and severe weather brings many unstable factors.

· The ERA HDPE deep-sea cages are made of high-strength HDPE raw materials with excellent toughness, featuring an elongation at break of over 350% and good impact resistance.

· Through professional structural design, the cages can withstand the invasion of natural climates and ocean waves in Dachen Island, without affecting the structural strength of the cages or causing them to drift and deform with the wind and waves, thus maintaining the stability of the fish's living environment.

· In addition, the project also adopts a matrix anchoring system, with multiple cages as a group, matched with multiple 1.5-ton iron anchors, and its wind and wave resistance stability is far superior to the single-mouth anchoring method.

Is it really durable under seawater erosion?

Seawater contains high levels of salt, and the attachment of microorganisms and bacteria can produce corrosive substances. At the same time, activities such as water flow and fish can also cause physical wear and tear on the cages.

· HDPE has extremely strong corrosion resistance, enabling long-term use in harsh marine environments. Its anti-corrosion capability is far superior to that of cages with surface-treated metal materials.

· In addition, HDPE also features anti-aging and anti-ultraviolet properties, which further enhance its durability in the marine environment, with a service life of up to 50 years.

With the put-into-use of these deep-water cages, the construction of Dachen Island's modern marine ranch has been comprehensively accelerated. This not only enhances the technological content of production capacity, but also promotes the vigorous development of the blue economy, creating new growth points for the local economy and the common prosperity of residents. This is one of the testimonies of ERA's continuous deepening in the construction of modern marine ranches, and its presence has spread across various sea areas.

Hainan is rich in fishery resources and an important region in China for deep-sea aquaculture. However, the regular typhoons that hit every year have brought difficulties to the efficient and sustainable production of the industry. To address this pain point, Yuan has customized HDPE deep-water aquaculture cage solutions for the cobia breeding base in Lingshui Bay, as well as the golden pompano breeding bases in Sanya and Lingao. Even in harsh environments with strong winds and waves, the cages can still be used stably, minimizing the impact of natural disasters on aquaculture and helping Hainan's aquaculture industry thrive with modern technology.
