Wei County is located at the southernmost tip of Hebei Province and suffers from a severe shortage of underground water resources. The entire county is an area of excessive groundwater exploitation, and the water network project throughout the region has become a strategic regional project. As a key livelihood project for rural revitalization, the Weixian County All-Region Water Network Project takes the construction of farmland pipe networks as its core. Through a systematic project of "water source restoration + intelligent control and management", it realizes a modern irrigation system featuring "water network connectivity, active pumpng stations, main and branch connection, and drought irrigation capacity".
The surface water irrigation project of the entire water network in Weixian County involves three areas: the southeast, northwest and northeast of Weixian County. It aims to build water systems, roads and greenery simultaneously. It is a comprehensive project integrating multiple functions such as irrigation and water supply, flood control and drainage, ecological tourism and smooth transportation. The combined total length of the water network, road network and forest network exceeds 670 kilometers.This water network project will restore and excavate 36 main and branch canals, expand and renovate 168 ponds, covering an area of 4,429 mu, with a total water storage capacity of 10.43 million cubic meters. New water gates, culverts and Bridges, inverted siphons, pumping stations and supporting field pipeline projects will be built. Modern water measurement facilities and intelligent control systems will also be constructed.It is the largest surface water irrigation project of the entire water network in North China.
