As the inaugural flight roars down the runway of Jiaxing Nanhu Airport, as the first aircraft lifts off from the runway of Lishui Airport, the aviation landscape of East China is being redrawn.

Witnessing a New Takeoff

With pipeline system solutions covering water supply, drainage, and electrical protection, ERA lays a solid and reliable underground foundation for the successful launch of these two airports.

01 Jiaxing Nanhu Airport: A New Engine for Air Cargo in the Yangtze River Delta

On December 26, Jiaxing Nanhu Airport officially commenced operations. As one of Zhejiang's "Ten Landmark Projects" for building a world-class strong port and a leading transportation province, Jiaxing Nanhu Airport is the nation's second professional air cargo hub and a unique presence in the Yangtze River Delta, shouldering the mission of "Global Shipping, Global Delivery." It is designed to handle 1.8 million passenger trips and 1.1 million tons of cargo and mail annually by 2030, marking a critical step for Jiaxing in transitioning from "water-land intermodal transport" to "road-rail-water-air" multimodal transport.

In the area of Jiaxing Nanhu Airport, where requirements for settlement control, durability, and safety are extremely stringent, ERA's HDPE Spiral Wound Structural Wall Pipes act as "invisible guardians," constructing a safe and efficient underground channel for airport stormwater and sewage discharge.

Jiaxing Nanhu Airport

1.1 Exceptional Ring Stiffness to Withstand Heavy Loads

As the only professional cargo hub in the Yangtze River Delta, the airport runway is designed to accommodate large cargo aircraft, with higher load-bearing standards. The continuous impact loads and vibrations from aircraft takeoffs and landings pose severe challenges to the strength of underground pipelines.
Traditional pipes are prone to deformation and collapse. ERA's Kra-Tec Pipes, with their unique "spiral wound structure" design and high-precision manufacturing process, precisely ensure mechanical performance. Simultaneously, the HDPE raw material endows the pipes with sky-high ring stiffness and impact resistance, enabling them to effectively withstand the instantaneous heavy loads and repeated vibrations caused by aircraft operations, ensuring the pipeline network beneath the runway remains "undeformed and uncollapsed."

1.2 Sealed and Leakproof to Prevent Contamination

Drainage pipelines at cargo airports must accommodate high-flow water demands such as aircraft cleaning, cargo spray disinfection, firefighting water, and site flushing, with risks of chemical media erosion.
The pipes' excellent corrosion resistance and efficient, secure connection methods ensure the long-term stability and zero-leakage operation of the pipeline system under complex conditions, constructing a reliable underground lifeline for the runway.

02 Lishui Airport: Building the "Underground Network" for Southwest Zhejiang's "Aerial Corridor"

Lishui Airport is renowned as the "Airport with the Highest Slopes in East China." This 4C-level civil-military dual-use feeder airport can meet annual demands of 1 million passenger trips and 4,000 tons of cargo and mail. It establishes an "aerial corridor" connecting the region internally and externally, traversing mountains and seas. As the "final link" in building a modern comprehensive transportation system and a core engine for fostering new growth poles, Lishui Airport has ended Lishui's history of being "remote and inaccessible" by air.

In the airport's construction, ERA provided systematic pipeline solutions spanning water supply, drainage, and electrical protection for facilities such as the terminal building and comprehensive service building, building a safe, durable, and quiet "invisible network."

2.1 Stable Conveyance, Building a Water Supply LifelineHDPE、PPR

Leveling 28 hilltops, filling 21 ravines, with a total investment of 6.3 billion yuan—this airport, nestled in the mountainous region of Southwest Zhejiang, faced challenges from uneven settlement due to complex terrain during construction. ERA's Steel Wire Reinforced Polyethylene Composite Pipes combine the rigidity of steel pipes with the flexibility and lightness of plastic pipes, easily adapting to complex terrain and providing lasting, reliable support for the airport runway's firewater supply system.

Additionally, ERA's HDPE Water Supply Series and PPR Water Supply Series, with their excellent toughness, anti-settlement capability, and resistance to corrosion and scaling, serve as the "lifeline" ensuring stable conveyance of production and domestic water.

2.2 Pressure-Resistant and Durable for Efficient Drainage

PP、PVC DRAINAGEModern airports have stringent requirements for noise control in waiting areas. To reduce drainage noise and create a quiet waiting environment, the airport selected ERA's PP Silent Drainage Series. Its innovative three-layer composite noise-reduction structure addresses noise issues from a physical principle, offering a more comfortable experience in the terminal building.

Southwest Zhejiang experiences concentrated rainy seasons, imposing significant drainage pressure. ERA's PVC-U Drainage Pipes, with their high strength, corrosion resistance, smooth inner walls, and long service life, form the backbone network for rainwater and partial sewage conveyance.

2.3 Safe Insulation for Lasting Electrical Protection

As a civil-military dual-use airport, military facilities impose higher requirements on lighting, power, and signaling systems. ERA's PVC-U Electrical Conduit Series, with its excellent flame retardancy and impact resistance, provides a sturdy "protective shell" for cables and wires, ensuring the stable operation of the airport's power system.

From the renovation and expansion of Taizhou Luqiao Airport to the continuous upgrades of Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport; from the capacity expansion of Ningbo Lishe International Airport to the modernization of Zhoushan Putuoshan Airport and Quzhou Airport, and even Wenzhou Longwan International Airport and Yiwu Airport—ERA has been deeply involved in all operational airports across Zhejiang. With its pipeline systems, ERA provides solid support for the high-quality development of the province's aviation network.

In the future, ERA will continue to use manufacturing as its wings and quality as its core, helping more super projects to soar, contributing solid and enduring "ERA strength" to infrastructure development in China and the world.
